Bakersfield sales in January were a whopping $6.6 billion and the median sale price was $1.4 million.
The city’s median price in February was $3.9 million.
The median price of homes in Southern Califonas largest city, Bakersfield, was $2.8 million, with a median sale value of $2,822,300.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose sold $1,979,600 homes for the same month, and the city with the highest median sale prices was Fresno.

Sales in the San Mateo, Fremont, and Santa Clara counties all increased by 9 percent, and sales in Santa Cruz County increased by 4.3 percent.
In California’s largest cities, Santa Cruz sold $3 billion, San Francisco sold $4.2 billion, and Fresno sold $6 billion.
Sales of single family homes in San Jose, Santa Clara, and Fremont all increased, but sales of townhouses in Santa Clara dropped by 11 percent.
Sales and incomes in California’s large cities continued to rise.
Median incomes in San Francisco rose by 3 percent, while the average income in San Mateos metropolitan area was $51,947.
Sales increased by 2 percent in Fresno.
Sales prices increased in all of California’s major cities except for Los Angeles, where sales rose by only 0.4 percent.
The median sale of homes sold in Southern states for the first time since the start of the Great Recession in 2008 rose 2.7 percent in February to $637,900.
Sales were up 0.3 percentage points in Orange County, but were down 2.3 points in Kern County.
